Nappilicious

Depending on the baby, diapers can cost an average of $80 a month. Egads. So a practical, and still shower worthy present is the diaper cake. Now available in organic.

My favourite diaper cakes are from a darling store called Mason & Matisse. The no-chlorine, biodegradable diapers are presented with organic (inside and out) plushes and other organic mummy treats.

The brilliant thing about these cakes is that they are non-fattening, and she will be thrilled if someone else gets her the same thing. Like real cake, you simply cannot have enough.
Another company, called Grow In Style, also makes eco nappy cakes which may suit if you drive a small Prius.

Or, make you happy if you are French, and your “go to” gift is Sophie the Giraffe, which allows you to gloat about how France has had safe baby teethers since Napolean.

For the more hippy amongst you, you can always find cloth diaper cakes (ask the mum first!) on Etsy…

or make your own, with these handy instructions.
Though seemingly uninspired after it was “done” on Sex In The City”, the diaper cake is like a string of pearls. Always suitable. Always perfect.
Just cheaper.

My darling Claire,
Take it from me, cloth diapers are always welcome when babies are in tow even if you aren’t bundling their bum in them. Cloth diapers make the best burp cloths, bibs and wipes for excess Lansinoh, olive oil or gentian violet (pray that you never need the last one). Kudos to you on the site – reading it has been incorporated into my daily routine.

Thank you, Jen. I am thusly armed with uber thirsty Hemp doublers and bamboo burp cloths – (sound of ominous spaghetti Western pre-shootout theme).
I verily and truly appreciate your readership. That makes 6 people.
If ever you have post ideas – please let me know. CDF
