Swingers and Siestas

baby-swing-organic

Though I won’t need one until the spring, I’m already looking for swings for our little Prince.  This lovely one is from New Zealand, but perhaps you have a childless friend who might be taking one of those fab New Zealand/Bali/Indonesia trips soon, and she can bring you one. (That’s the closest you’ll be getting to New Zealand for a few years, sister.)

And speaking of swings…though I researched them, I realized that we just didn’t have the room for a hammock – but I thought that you may be considering one.

There is this lovely Kanoe Hammock, that can be hung indoors (honestly, who ARE these people who go camping? I just don’t understand women being too far from proper, flushing loos.)  I know it looks like something out of an old John Wayne movie, from a time when children still played cowboys and injuns – but, it does seem comfortable and lulling.

Another organic hammock that has been featured on all the so hip it hurts design blogs, is the Hushmok.  The platforms that it needs to hang from are all rather large, so this is not the hammock for you if you live in a small apartment.

And if you are into the family bed thing, perhaps the family hammock may be the thing.

Remember: It don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing….
