Feeling Sheepish…
I have always loved Hanro for it’s Scandy simplicity. But as a yank, I am trying, (due to the constant nagging of my friend Ciara), to buy local. In this case – from Maine.
I’ve never been to Maine, but I have always wanted to stay at a lovely B&B in some “Murder She Wrote” looking town, where all the men look like the Gordon fisherman, and eat my weight in lobster. (Ohhhh…mummy loves lobster now that she isn’t preggos anymore.)
So. I came across this lovely, very Hanro like line (via Treehugger), called Ramblers Way – where not only is every little piece organic and free of chemicals and pesticides – but they post photos of the sheep from whence commeth the wool! I want to visit this farm and hug these sheep. It’s all so pure, simple and Americana. (Ciara!)
The founders (very sweet homey photos of them on site), are the very same that founded Tom’s of Maine, a brand I used to trust and love before Colgate bought them. (Just as Clorox bought Burt Bees, and Kelloggs bought Kashi. Humph.)
Anyway. If you love the ease and elegance of Hanro, and you have a navy blue passport, you may want to try Ramblers Way.
(I wonder if Maine sheep eat lobster?)
