GMO’s on the Runway

Recently I rejoiced over the new H&M organic line that would be perfect for preggo and new mums. However, today, a friend sent me a link to an article by Treehugger that revealed a recent investigation of organic clothes that discovered that the H&M “organic” line contained GMO cotton.

Now. No one is more against GMO crops than me – and yes, H&M, and all retailers, have an obligation to be more vigilant of their suppliers – buuuuuuutttt…..

…this H&M line IS still formaldehyde, pesticide, fertilizer and textile chemical free – which is a mums primary concern.

Are they perfect? No. But the H&M “organic” line is far better than the chemical laden clothes we usually buy. (Including most of my togs that hail from Anthropologie – who I pray gets on the organic bandwagon.)

Caveat Emptor – but also remember – regarding chemicals in clothes less is less. And better.
