<p>I think that Crocs are one. Unless you are a chef slaving in a hot kitchen all day, I can&#8217;t think of any reason why the modern form of &#8220;Jellies&#8221; should shod so many poor, unsuspecting children on the playground. Honestly. Would YOU wear them? Exactly.</p>
<p>MUCH better for the feet, cuter and just as &#8220;hardy&#8221; are <a href="http://www.swedishhasbeens.com/tstrap-child-p-56.html">clogs</a>. And yes, even boys (named Sven) can wear them. But girls, who really will be traumatized when they look back and see photos of their rubber laden feet, look especially adorable in clogs &#8211; and most especially in<a href="http://www.swedishhasbeens.com/tstrap-child-p-56.html"> these</a> from clog-land: Sweden.</p>
<p>As we all know, Swedish children are far brighter than our own and our perform them on every test. Do you know why? Because they didn&#8217;t wear Crocs. Thats a proven scientific fact. Sort of. In my world.</p>
<p>Hejdå!</p>

<p>How are these NOT carried at Barney&#8217;s?</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/crocredbbE.jpg#utm_source=feed&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=feed"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3074" title="crocredbbE" src="http://www.thegreenstork.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/crocredbbE-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.bearfeet.com/aboutus.php">Bear Feet</a> has all the Mary Janes and Ballarinas a future Audrey needs.</p>

<p>These are the shoes that Carrie Bradshaw bought her own triplet daughters that she has with Mr Big (in the version in my head).</p>

<p>From teeny to big girl sizes, you really needn&#8217;t look anywhere else.</p>
<p>But honestly, <a href="http://www.bearfeet.com/aboutus.php">Bear Feet </a> needs to get a proper advertising/PR strategy. It&#8217;s just silly that they aren&#8217;t chatted up everywhere and carried by all the best stores.</p>
<p>I also want to know where all the cute CHAP shoes are. Ahem.</p>
<p>If you have or know any chiquitas &#8211; these are the shoes that she needs to wear with her organic togs. Truly. I wish they had my size&#8230;.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m not going to lie to you and suggest that all of my clothes are organic or vegan. They aren&#8217;t &#8211; my sons are.</p>
<p>But. With vegan shoes and boots are cute as those made by <a href="http://www.neuaurashoes.com/">NeuAura</a>, I can slowly make that important transition to a more responsible closet. And with eco fashion getting cuter by the &#8216;mo &#8211; it won&#8217;t be long before we can all be clad and shod as well as those who can afford Stella Mc Cartney.</p>
<p>Not only are <a href="http://www.nimli.com/category_814__Women's-Eco-Friendly-Shoes-Vegan-Shoes-and-Boots.html">NeuAura shoes </a> adorable and responsible &#8211; the plant they are made in is hydro-electrically powered. Like an updated windmill. It&#8217;s all quite fashionably wonderful.</p>
<p>Wearing animals is so 1995.</p>
<p>Happy Tuesday!</p>

<p>I know, I know. I rarely cover girl clothes or shoes (as they are so easy to find &#8211; and I am a boys mum). But these STUNNING baby shoes from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/54929115/purple-organic-hemp-satin-ballet-shoe">Bobka Baby</a> are too exquisite not to cover. If you know of anyone who is having a Spring or Summer wedding, and is lucky enough to have a wee lass in the ceremony, you MUST consider these darling organic slippers!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/il_570xN.194679523.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2637" title="il_570xN.194679523" src="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/il_570xN.194679523-300x224.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="224" /></a></p>
<p>Are they not SO beautiful?! They are truly tiny works of art that any mum would wrap in tissue and keep forever.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/il_570xN.195439374.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2638" title="il_570xN.195439374" src="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/il_570xN.195439374-300x224.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="224" /></a></p>
<p>Wisps of ribbon and a handful of silk or linen are sewn by fairies to make these little morsels of loveliness that will elicit as many &#8220;ooohhs&#8221; and &#8220;ahhhs&#8221; as the lass herself.</p>
<p>A perfect gift for the new mama, these shoes are a little piece of heaven.</p>
<p>I do wish boys shoes could be this sweet&#8230;.</p>

<p>If you are a green mama in the midwest &#8211; you need boots. Several, if not many pair. But most boots and shoes are made with a toxic soup of glues and dyes that we green mamas try to stay clear of in our own, as well in our babies closets. Luckily, every season we have more options.</p>
<p><a href="http://shopgreenbees.com/">Green Bees</a> make beautiful boots and shoes are made with formaldehyde free dyes and, often, recycled tread.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/image4.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2619" title="image4" src="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/image4-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Classic and suitable for pushing your Oeko-Tex Standard 100 stroller, Green Bees shoes are perfect for the mama who doesn&#8217;t think a pair of shoes are worth the <a href="http://www.greenyour.com/body/clothing/shoes/tips/choose-a-shoe-made-from-natural-materials">pollution that is required </a> to make conventional footwear.</p>
<p>And what a great example to your wee one!</p>
<p>Happy walking!</p>

<p>Well. She won&#8217;t eat her rice pudding again, as she would rather be skipping about in her shoes that are free of harmful dyes and toxins such as Lead, Mercury, Arsenic, Cadmium, Antimony, Selenium and Barium.</p>
<p>Available over at <a href="http://www.satarababy.com/category/baby-and-toddler-shoes">Satara</a>, these darling Mary Janes are all I would shod my daughter in, if I had one.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/forever-mary-jane.jpg.png"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2242" title="forever mary jane.jpg" src="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/forever-mary-jane.jpg.png" alt="" width="228" height="228" /></a>Classic, safe and so much nicer than sneaker shoes that light up and scare pets as they burst into battery operated song, Mary Janes almost guarantee a well behaved child. (How can one have a tantrum in shoes so sweet?)</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/pink_metro_jane.jpg.png"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2243" title="pink_metro_jane.jpg" src="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/pink_metro_jane.jpg.png" alt="" width="228" height="228" /></a></p>
<p>Honestly.  These shoes look lovingly cobbled by doe eyed elves. And will go perfectly with all that is smocked.</p>
<p>Thank heavens for proper little girl shoes.</p>
<p>(And rice pudding.)</p>

<p>Warning: If you are from Fort Lauderdale, and are a &#8220;Topsider&#8221; purist, this will offend you.</p>
<p>You know you grew up in Fort Lauderdale if you had an entire drawer full of bathing suits, you have had to figure out what to do with green hair (if you were blond), you have seen as many Manatee as Georgians have &#8216;coons, and you had at least four pairs of Sperry Topsiders. If you grew up within 10 miles of <em>The Galleria</em> in the 80&#8242;s, those Topsider laces were curled into spiral things, rather than tied in a bow. It looked &#8220;totally wicked&#8221; with your double layer of pastel colored Polo shirts (both collars up). Just the thing to wear as you stole macaroons from the LYC.</p>
<p>Sadly, Topsiders have yet to go &#8220;green&#8221; &#8211; but <a href="http://www.timberland.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3773572&amp;cp=1779791">Timberland</a> has created a line of &#8220;<a href="http://www.timberland.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3773572&amp;cp=1779791">greener&#8221; boat shoes</a> that, though not Topsiders, are suitable for a go on your runabout.</p>
<p>From their site:</p>
<ul>
<li>100% organic cotton canvas and burnished leather uppers from a silver-rated tannery</li>
<li>Lightly padded collar for a comfortable fit around the heel</li>
<li>100% recycled PET and 100% organic cotton linings</li>
<li>360-degree lacing system for optimum adjustability</li>
<li>100% recycled polyester laces</li>
<li>Outsole made with 5% recycled rubber</li>
<li>Rustproof hardware</li>
</ul>
<p>I know that Sperry-lovers will never buy them &#8211; but they ARE better for the environment, and that means better for the Manatee.</p>
<p>(Slight exaggeration, but it all ties in.)</p>
<p>Happy boating!</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve been searching for spring shoes for my boy &#8211; and I came across <a href="http://www.bobuxusa.com/baby_shoes/view_all">Bobux</a>, a company that uses only eco-leather that is <a href="http://www.bobuxusa.com/s.nl/sc.5/category.70/.f">safe enough</a> to go in babys&#8217; mouth to create it&#8217;s tootsie confections.</p>
<p>I will not be buying these&#8230;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/media-2.nl_.gif"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1581" title="media-2.nl" src="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/media-2.nl_.gif" alt="" width="288" height="285" /></a></p>
<p>As I much prefer these&#8230;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/media-3.nl_.jpeg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1580" title="media-3.nl" src="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/media-3.nl_-300x292.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="292" /></a></p>
<p>Molly, our puppy, asked that I buy Alden these&#8230;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/media-3.nl_.gif"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1582" title="media-3.nl" src="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/media-3.nl_.gif" alt="" width="288" height="267" /></a></p>
<p>But I am most likely going to buy him these&#8230;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/media-4.nl_.jpeg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1583" title="media-4.nl" src="http://www.thegreenstork.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/media-4.nl_-300x288.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="288" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.bobuxusa.com/baby_shoes/boys">Bobux shoes</a> are not only made of eco-leather, but they are Velcro free (honestly &#8211; our kids are in such a hurry that we need Velcro?), and only a few have laces (choking/strangulation hazard).  These are just safe and easy slip ons that every mum has time for.</p>
<p>Happy trails!</p>
